After a long absence the bats of the chedi have returned in numbers. Yesterday there were some 20 of them.
Today I counted more than 30 bats!
I've never seen that many of them in the 3 years that I've been a nun.
I was curious as to what made them show up all of a sudden and suddenly realised that the "mango" season came early this year. This whole domain is full of mango trees and the bats had to compete with the squirrels, birds and most of all, the Thais who like to eat mangos when they are green and sour. It's food rush-hour out there and the season doesn't last long.
The bats choice of residence probably won't last long either.
